Record guide
How to use public dentist records carefully
Public dentist records are a starting point. They can help you identify a source-reported NPI, taxonomy, entity type, and practice location, but they do not replace direct confirmation from the provider or an official licensing source.
A safer way to read a record
- Use the NPI as the strongest identifier.
- Compare the taxonomy and entity type with what you expected to find.
- Check when the source was last reviewed.
- Confirm address, phone, services, insurance, and appointments before visiting.
When a record looks wrong
Public data can lag behind real-world changes. If a MyCareRoute record appears outdated, use the correction policy and include source-backed details. Do not include symptoms, diagnoses, insurance IDs, or other private health information.
